Au Revoir Simone

Au Revoir Simone are nice girls who play nice music. Kind of Broadcast/Stereolab-ish, but with more of a pop goal that has almost twee results at points. Lot's of "la"s and "ooh"s... That's a good thing!

I ran into Annie from the band and her fiance' on the streets of Austin and then once again, at the airport on the way back from SXSW and, well... everything that I can muster up to say about these ladies is nice and pleasant. Good people, good tunes. Check 'em out for yourself..

The Stills :: Without Feathers

Everything that I've heard about the new record by The Stills has been fairly negative. Apparently, the drummer is now playing guitar and sings half the songs? Oof.

I've been kind of afraid to hear it, but braved a few tracks [below] and am just as bummed out as I expected to be.

Can I have the old Stills back, please?

Languis :: US tour & new EP

It seems like most of the bands that I've written about are playing NY in the next couple of months. The one that I'm most excited about is Languis [pronounced "long-geese"], since I haven't seen them yet! .
